Now some of you may be thinking “What extra money?” and while that may feel like the case, it’s not always. I have twice found a $20 bill on the ground within two blocks of my home. Once the boys even found $20 in a library book we had checked out. Each time more than half was set aside to be saved for a later purchase. If you’re having trouble knowing how to get extra cash check out the list below.
10 Ways To Get Extra Cash
- Birthday/Holiday Gifts
- Sell unused items online
- Have a rummage sale
- Pick up a temporary/part-time job

- Cut back on spending splurges
- Find money – my personal favorite
While it may be tempting to simply go out and spend any extra money you have it is important to remember what your financial goals are. I try to encourage people to at least save half and if desired use the other half on a splurge every now and then. The key is to not get burned out by never allowing yourself to have fun but at the same time having a good balance of savings so you are able to reach your goals. This 50/50 split tends to encourage more saving over time. As I see my savings grow and get larger it makes me want to save even more.
